Bahia de San Luis Gonzaga
Bahia de San Luis Gonzaga is basically a wide spot on route 5, but it is a great place to overnight on your way north or south.
The Details
- There is an RV/parking place called Rancho Grande which let’s you park right at the beach. Some spots have palapas (covered areas) and some do not. You pay at the store/restaurant across the street and when you get your pass, the guy manning the chain across the road will allow you in.
- The store is small, but does have quite a bit of necessities. They also sell purified water and can pump it into your RV.
- The restaurant is limited, but very good. And there is a GREAT little taco stand right outside. Did I mention the fish tacos were great? LOL!
- There is also a gas station there and I strongly suggest you top off. Going further south you will find limited stations. If you’re diesel, those pumps are around back.

On a Personal Note
Parking at Rancho Grande is easy, but know that the road in is dirt and in places uneven. They have numerous clean porta potties, but no other amenities. The beach is very pretty and filled with shells.
